Travelling tips for the American Cemetery Memorial: by car - it is just off of the motorway system and is well signposted with plenty of parking. How to get there from Luxembourg city by public transport: take bus no. 15 direction Hamm/Rue de Bitbourg (from Gare, among other places, timetable: see here - the bus stop is in front of the Mercure Alfa Hotel opposite the station) and get off at Käschtewee bus stop (last but one).

Then, walk ahead until you reach a small roundabout, cross it (follow the sign for American Cemetery Memorial). After some 100 metres, you'll reach a T-junction - turn right (again there'll be a sign for ACM) and follow the footpath - it will curve to the right and then go all the way down to the rail tracks, where it joins a disused road which goes alongside the rail tracks and under the motorway. Once past the overpass, you'll see a small fenced pond on the left - you are on the right track - follow the road (it goes slightly uphill) until you reach the gate of the ACM. At a brisk pace, it should not take you more than 10-15 minutes to get from the bus stop to the gate.

Don't get discouraged if you have no car and do visit the memorial site - it's really easy to get there. The site leaves a sombre impression, but is definitely worth the time and effort.

Be aware that the cemetery closes at 5pm unlike many British and Commonwealth cemeteries.
