Whilst in Innsbruck take a latern walk up in Natters. It was easy to get to by getting on the STB tram which stops on Maria Theresien Strasse. It runs about every half hour and goes to Natters tram station (about a 20-minut trip) and costs 2.60 euros each. The tram ride is lovely and you can see the floodlit ski slopes. Once in Natters, head for the town square.
The latern walks are held every Tuesday. You get to walk into the forests, and go to an Austrian pub and have Gluhwein and it is all completely free. The best thing to do is ring the Natters tourist office for info.
