Back in the 1980s, the LDWA and the the IW arranged walks including the Seven Sisters Challenge walk(open to runners, jogggers and walkers). It was a 26-mile walk based on Eastbourne, going out over the South Downs and returning via the Seven Sisters, of which Beachy Head is a part; it is a range of chalk cliffs. The seven sisters marathon is now the Beachy Head marathon, people come from all over world. Now if you want to walk these cliffs and appreciate them fully, avoid the 20-odd miles round the South Downs to get there. Take a bus and stop at a cafe for a break. Photographers will find a good view of the lighthouse and the English Channel. Then head back into Eastbourne.
