Giardini Naxos is a small township located on the Italian island of Sicily.  Every year, people from all over Italy come to this seaside resort to enjoy its natural setting and relaxing atmosphere.  There are less than 10,000 permanent residents in this township, which noticeably swells during the summer, tourist season.

Most of the income for people of Giardini is base on one of three things: agriculture, handicrafts, and tourism.  The main things grown in the area include vegetables, olives, grapes, and citrus fruits.  The more popular handicrafts made here include embroideries, pottery, and iron worked art. Tourism generates revenue mainly in the summertime, between the months of June and August.  However, the area is visited by some people year round.

The beaches around Giardini Naxos are beautiful.  They are yellow sand beaches, and the water is a brilliant turquoise color.

The nearest airport to the township is located in Catania, which is about 60 km south.  The Filippo Eredia Airport has daily flight arriving from throughout Italy and certain international destinations.  Messina, which is around 40 km away, is the nearest port to Giardini Naxos.
