There is much in the way of Caceres reading to be done online, whether from Frommer’s or Travel Holiday, both of which can be found here.

Historical and Monumental Caceres by Antonio Rubio Rojas is full of color photos and black-and-whites to entice the reader to this historical city, and the maps and detailed texts that accompany the pictures provide rather valuable information indeed.   The catch is that this paperback usually comes in at around $35 or $40.

Frommer’s Spain , by Darwin Porter and Danforth Prince, with its section on Caceres and greater Extremadura, is a more affordable book and also worthy of perusal.

Lonely Planet Spain , by Damien Simoniss, is rather strong on the accommodation, festival, and sightseeing knowledge pertaining to Caceres and Extremadura and is thus another worthwhile read.
