Active visitors to Jerez de la Frontera need not worry, as there are plenty of sports and activities available to keep them busy.

Golfing in the Andalusia area is generally good. Some visitors choose to take their clubs along and spend a few rounds playing on the public golf courses around Jerez.  The two closest courses to the city of Jerez are the Montecastillo Resort, and the Sherry Golf Jerez Resort.  Both of these are upscale clubs, and they require players to make reserved tee-times a few days in advance.  The courses are open throughout the year, and are closed on public holidays.

Spending a day riding a horse is another option for visitors to Jerez de la Frontera. The city has multiple equestrian centers, and a few companies teach lessons as well as rent out horses.

The city has various tennis and football facilities available to the public, as well as swimming pools, sports clubs, and gymnasiums.

Due to its placement in the Andalusia region, Jerez de la Frontera is a perfect place to base explorations out of.  There is a railway station in Jerez, which links the city to both Cadiz (on the sea side) and Sevilla (on the north), en route to other cities.  For more information, check out this Andalusia Railway page.
