Eastern Beaches Coastal Walk (aka Bondi to Bronte)

The classic walk along the stunning coastline of the Eastern Suburbs is one of Sydney's best-kept secrets.

The path weaves along beside the sea from Bondi Beach, passing Mackenzies Bay, Tamarama Beach, Bronte Beach, Waverley Cemetery, Clovelly Beach, Gordons Bay and Coogee Beach where it extends further south towards Maroubra and beyond.

The most popular stretch from Bondi to Coogee is 5.9km and takes about 2 hours at a leisurely pace. The views are spectacular, and you can stop for a coffee or lunch at Bondi, Tamarama, Bronte, Clovelly and Coogee.

It should be noted however, that there are some steep stairs -- nothing too scary, but they just might prove challenging with a pram by yourself, so take a friend or hubby to assist.

Frequent bus services to the city and Bondi Junction (every 10 mins or better) meet the walk at Bondi (333, 380, 381, 382), Bronte (378) and Coogee (372, 373, 374, 353, 314). Half hourly buses are also available from Tamarama (361) and Clovelly (360, 339).

This is a walk that locals enjoy frequently, and you won't be disappointed. The art exhibition, 'Sculptures by the Sea' is displayed each year between Tamarama and Bondi - although extremely crowded at this time of year, the combination of the contemporary art and incredible views are something not to be missed during your stay in Sydney.
