What to do in Walsh Bay

  • Attend a theatre production by the Sydney Theatre Company at the Wharf Theatre or Sydney Theatre. If you wish to attend a production please note that there is a shuttle for patrons on some days from Wynyard and Circular Quay. Please contact the theatre for further information.  Alternatively, tours of the theatres are held on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month at 10.30am and take approximately 75 minutes.  Tours cost $8 per person.   • Attend a production by the Sydney Dance Company. Their headquarters are located at The Wharf, Pier 4, Hickson Rd, where other arts companies, such as Bangarra Dance Theatre, Carnivale, Sydney Philharmonia Choirs and ATYP, are also located. Telephone 61 2 9221 4811
  • Walsh Bay is the home of the  festival of Sydney Art which is held every two years- the Biennale of Sydney. This artfest is held between June and August. Biennale Visions 2010
  • Heritage Walk - browse the historical artifacts such as old wool handling equipment and the concrete sea wall which hindered the colonial rat infestations, see panoramic views of Balmain all the way to Kirribilli, walk to the Hero of Waterloo pub and around the gorgeous residential redevelopment on the wharves etc

Public Transport -  Walsh Bay is a 15 minute walk from Circular Quay. Follow the harbour foreshore, past the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Park Hyatt hotel, continue under the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Train, ferry or bus to Circular Quay.
