It's hard to believe that only 10 minutes away from the Sydney CBD are quiet residential streets, green bushland reserves, and yes, beautiful sandy beaches....This is something unique to Sydney.

Little Sirius Cove is located near to the Taronga Zoo and is accessible via ferry by getting off at Athol Wharf Rd (Taronga Zoo Wharf) and then walking along Bradleys Head Road, turning left at Lennox Street and left again onto Sirius Cove Rd.

If you are a traveler and you wish to see typical day-to-day life in Sydney, pop by this cute, little beach in the late afternoon on a spring or summer day.

You will see dozens of local residents out wandering the beach with their kids and dogs.

This beach is a dog-friendly, meaning dogs can be let off-leash all day during the week and before 9am and after 4pm on weekends.  This makes it a popular place for an early morning or afternoon stroll with the kids and pets.

The beach is not large, but has very pleasant, fine, light sand and a retaining wall with a grassy area behind it.

It also has good facilities with a few picnic tables, as well as bathrooms/showers/change rooms, and has rubbish bins and water fountains for drinking and washing sand off the feet too.

The beach is surrounded on both sides by walking trails and has a few sets of steps which go down to the water.

If you want to have a few quiet minutes soaking in normal Sydney life after touring the Taronga Zoo in the morning, this is a great place to go.
