A number of companies run day trips & overnight(s) coach tours from Darwin to the following:
- Litchfield National Park - Litchfield National Park is a great place for a day trip or for a weekend camp. With many different swimming holes including, Florence Falls, Buely Rock Hole, Wangi Falls. Only 1.5 hours from Darwin City . There are also some 4WD tracks which have amazing water holes and camping grounds and because you need a 4WD to get there it's never packed. Litchfield National Park is not a very far drive from Batchelor which has good take away shops so if you forget your lunch you can go for a quick drive to get some. Because it's in the tropics, take plenty of sunscreen!
- Northern Territory Wildlife Park - This is an amazing park which showcases the plant and animal life of the Northern Territory. There are shows at scheduled times, but there is not an amusement park feel. You feel that you are walking in untouched NT wilderness (albeit with a tram that goes around as well). There are many quiet and pristine areas of the park. The birds are especially amazing. This is an easy drive out of Darwin.
