Gellert Spa is a traditional Hungarian thermal bath complex with spa treatments. The bath house has beautiful Art Nouveau architecture dating back to 1918. St Gellert Furdo is located in the Gellert Hotel in Buda, at the foot of Gellert Hill, along the Danube. Gellert Spa & Thermal Baths is open to the public, and is a mixed bath (since Jan 1, 2013). Hotel guests enjoy free admission.
The baths have recently been restored, and although historically Gellert Furdo used to have men and women in separate thermal baths, the new system is to have coed pools and thermal baths in Gellert Spa Bath, including the indoor main pool, the outdoor pools. The outdoor pool has a wave machine dating back to the 1930's and is still working great. Unfortunately this pool is working only during the summer time. According to the newest opening time, during weekdays and weekends the thermal baths and saunas are all coeducated.
The spa offers massages and medical treatments also (many of which are only for hospital guests): electrotherapy, inhalation, mud treatment to name but a few. 30 minute or 1 hour massages can be booked in advance. The bath has its own facilities for health treatments, including a dental care. New service in the spa are the Royal Therapies, different 1 hour massages: Refreshing-relaxing, Luxury manager, Harmony - relax, Hot stone massages...
The spa is open every day between 6:00-20:00 from Monday to Sunday. Tickets are available in Gellert Baths, or you can pre-book your bath ticket (only needed with a massage) online too. The long waiting time at the weekends at the entrance can be avoided with prepaid tickets.
