The weather in Pennsylvania varies from place to place. Overall, however, it is the same as the rest of the northeastern United States, with four very distinct seasons. Spring and fall are typically mild and pleasant, with temperatures ranging anywhere from 55 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit. Winter lows can be pretty low, even down around the freezing mark in January and February. During the summer months of July August, temperatures often soar to as high as 90 degrees Fahrenheit with plenty of humidity.

Summer is the peak tourist time, but fewer crowds and better rates on hotels can be found in the fall and winter. If you are planning to join the masses who visit Philadelphia each year, keep in mind that most concert series and museum exhibits occur from October through June. And if you are planning to be anywhere near Independence Hall on the Fourth of July, expect enormous crowds.
