Here is a short  list of some of best snorkeling spots on Maui. Remember, snorkeling conditions depend on weather and time of year for best experience.  Generally speaking, the north/west shores have large surf in the winter months and the south facing shore have larger waves in the summer months. The best snorkeling conditions are usually found in the morning. The midday winds tend create waves and cloudier water.

1.  Kapalua Bay - There is plenty of near shore snorkeling, and it usually gets even better if you work your way out on the right side (looking from the beach) of the bay.  Be very careful, as the swells get bigger, along with the fish, as you head further from the beach.

2. Kahekili Fisheries Management Area, Kahekili Beach Park (aka airport beach)
