1. Grand Palace and Temple of the Emerald Buddha - at Sanam Luang (Royal Field, a large open space).
2. Wat Pho (Reclining Buddha temple) - behind the Grand Palace
3. City Pillar Shrine - diagonally across from The Grand Palace wall at the traffic signals in front of Sanam Luang
4. National Museum in the 2nd King's Palace, top end of Sanam Luang, on the left walking away from the Grand Palace
5. Golden Mount at Rachadmneon Avenue, 15 minute walk from the Grand Palace
6. Wat Arun (Temple of the Dawn), on the opposite bank of Chao Phrya river from Wat Po.
7. Royal Barge Museum, on the Thonburi side of river near Thonburi train station.
8. Wat Suthat and Giant Swing - the symbol of Bangkok - at Phra Nakorn district

9. Wat Traimit, famus for its huge solid Golden Buddha, at Traimit Road, Chinatown
10. Jim Thompson House, traditional ThaiSoi Kasemsan 2, opposite the National Stadium on Rama I Road.
11. The Ancient City, Located about 30 kms from central Bangkok. You can hire bikes, or take the trolley for this great introduction to Thai history and culture in a really peaceful and authentic environment. A hidden GEM. Google Map
