Phuket Zoo

 The Phuket Zoo is located a few kilometers NorthEast of the Chalong Circle which is South of Phuket Town on the island of Phuket. It is a 15 minute drive from Kata, Rawai or Naiharn, 30 minutes from Patong, Karon, Kamala and a bit longer from the Northern part of the island including Naithon Beach.

If you've got small children, they will enjoy this small zoo, which because of its size, is never too crowded and tends to be a hands-on experience.

Features include live animal shows with monkeys, elephants and crocodiles, butterfly area, lots of bird species, tigers, a beautiful aquarium with lots of indigenous sea creatures, photo ops with animals and chances to feed creatures like monkeys, elephants and fish.

Refreshments: cold water, sodas and beer, sandwiches, potato chips, french fries, fresh fruit and ice cream are available in stands and eating areas throughout the zoo.

Admission Cost: 500 Thai bacht for adults, 300 bacht for children and babies 2 and under are free.

Parking is free, and prams/strollers are recommended for little ones along with sunscreen.

Daily Shows:

Monkey Shows - 9 am, noon, 2:30 pm and 4:45 pm

Crocodile Shows: 9:45 am, 12:45 pm, 3:15 pm and 5:30 pm

Elephant Shows: 10:30 pm, 1:30 pm and 4 pm

The zoo is only 5 acres large so it can be seen in as little as 3 hours including all three live animal shows.
