Ngihtlife in Baku is vibrant, though when traversing the city streets be sure to follow common
safety
procedures and leave the bulk of your money back at the hotel, as pickpockets and predators are known to thrive off tourists.
That said, Azerbaijan is not particularly unsafe, and there are many clubs and bars that make venturing outside at night well worth the trip. The Universal Club, for example, is a bar and restaurant that features excellent European cuisine as well as live music.
The relatively upscale Club Filarmonie provides live music followed by folk dance performance, and operates from noon to midnight.
The Caravan Saray not only offers excellent dining, but consistently furnishes live entertainment, and the Patio Club, open until four in the morning, serves up cheap dishes as well as much quality music.
For the homesick, a more occidental feel can be found in any one of the several bars housed in the
western hotels established in the capital
