Tourists staying in Malaysia for more than 72 hours are exempt from paying taxes on the following:
- One quart bottle of liquor
- Cigarettes or 50 cigars or 225g of tobacco
- Souvenirs and gifts to the maximum value of RM200.00
- Electrical and battery-operated personal appliances
Items such as watches, pens, lighters, cameras, perfume and cosmetics are duty free in Malaysia.
