Mishkenot Sha'ananim, the first housing outside the walls of the Old City, is in a quiet corner of Jerusalem, Yemin Moshe, several hundred meters west of the outer wall and Jaffa Gate.  It now houses a restaurant, artist's hostel, and several temporary artists' studios.  The restaurant, while high priced, serves among the best meals in the country.

While visiting Yemin Moshe, take a chance and drop in the Jerusalem Music Centre, under the Windmill.  The Centre, founded by Isaac Stern holds master classes, occasional concerts and provides other services to the music community.
