Gui jie street is a food street , many chinese restaurants are here , especially Suantang Fish Soup.Street food in China is great, and there are more inexpensive Chinese spots thancould be mentioned. American and other "foreign" cuisines are quite a bit more expensive than local ones.

Bite-a-pitta (Nu Ren Jie, Lady's Street) Really good Mediterannean Food.  Chicken Shwarma Sandwich 22RMB ($2.80).  Try the 10 Mezze Dishes if you want an appetizer to share.
