You should definitely consider the famous Star Ferry  for travelling across the harbour. The most popular route is between Tsim Sha Tsui on the Kowloon side and Central on Hong Kong Island but another Star Ferry route affording exellent harbour views is between Tsim Tsa Tsui and Wan Chai Ferry Pier next to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. It's a wonderful experience at any time but especially at night when you are treated to stunning views of the illuminated buildings on Hong Kong Island.

The iconic Star Ferry is one of the most popular attractions for Hong Kong tourists and at just HK$2.30 (HK$2.50 at weekends and public holidays) for an upper deck trip across the harbour is often said to be one of the best value for money trips in the world.

On 13th November 2006 the Star Ferry Pier on the Hong Kong Island side of the harbour in Edinburgh Place moved to a new location at Central Ferry Piers 7 and 8 near to the IFC2 building (Hong Kong's tallest building). Pier 7 is for services to Tsim Sha Tsui. Pier 8 is for services to Hung Hom and the Star Ferry Harbour Tour.

The old pier has been demolished.
