Nanjing is an up and coming city, 3 hours away from
Shanghai by train. Steeped in history, good and bad, it is now undergoing rapid modernisation and the Government are very pro-active in its redevelopment. Perhaps perceived as a poor relation or satellite city to Shanghai, there is quiet confident buzz about the place. Bustling and exciting as all Chinese cities are, there are still some bikes and motorbikes weaving in and out of the traffic.
It's people are charming, friendly and professional. The airport is modern, efficient and not too far from the city centre. Beware that there are no flights from Shanghai, if going to Nanjing, it may be easier to fly from a city further away.
The weather is temperate in winter but can get hot in summer.
