Panama City's nightlife is well-known among locals and travelers alike as wild and varied in terms of places to go. Some consider Panama City's nightlife its central draw, with dozens of nightclubs, discos, casinos, and bars, all packed until the wee hours of the morning. The four major nightclub areas are the business district, Casco Viejo (Old Town), the Amador Causeway and Calle Uruguay (Bella Vista). In Panama City alone, there are three major casinos, located in the Ceaser Park, the El Panama Hotel, and the Marriot Continental Hotel, in addition to several smaller ones. In the business district, some of the notable spots are the Wine Bar, for a mellow evening of wine (over 300 selections) and cheese tasting; Unplugged, a club popular with the younger crowd; Wasabi Lounge, a combination disco/sushi bar; and Next, the largest disco in Central America. In Casco Viejo, 38 Manzanas, Platea and La Casona de las Brujas are the most frequented bars, and the Amador Causeway hosts one of the only oceanside bars/jazz lounges, Las Bovedas. Keep in mind that while many revelers travel by foot from bar to bar, visitors would do well to take taxis and stick to the main, well-lit strips for safety reasons.
