Annapolis Harbour Center, just a ten-minute drive from the waterfront, is a bit more than a typical strip mall. It does have stores, a movie theater and restaurants, but it also features some outdoor entertainment during the warmer months next to a small pond and gazebo that is incorporated within the center. Another unique feature is the Pennsylvania Dutch Marketplace which is exclusively staffed by the Amish. The market is open only Thurs-Sat. and includes fresh produce, a butcher shop featuring fresh made sausages, candy store, delicatessen, spice and dry goods section, bakery, a restaurant and much more. There is even furniture displayed that you can order, which is all hand crafted.
The more standard stores include Barnes and Noble, Boater's World, Old Navy, Ann Taylor Loft, and Whole Foods. The last two establishments will be moving to the new Parole Center soon, so these stores will be replaced. Boutique type shops and smaller stores include Yankee Candle, Radio Shack, Omaha Steaks, and Chico's in addition to several non-chain places. Restaurants include the Chicago based "Potbellies", which specializes in toasted sandwiches, TGIF, Baja Fresh, a mexican fast food restaurant that features all fresh ingredients, Lebanese Taverna, a middle eastern eatery, and of course a Starbucks.
It's a pleasant shopping experience that does elevate itself above the standard strip mall ambiance, but be warned, it is very popular and you may not always be able to park right next to the establishment you want to visit.
