Tampa Hill is the large clump of forested mountain behind Brasov, on which the "Hollywood"-style Brasov sign is located. It is well worth taking the short funicular ride up the hill, both for the superb views over the town and the walk down through the woods, which is a leisurely 45-minute stroll. There is a restaurant at the top, but it appears to keep erratic opening hours, although the staff will sell you drinks from the fridge even if the restaurant itself is closed. From the restaurat it is a short hike to the "belvedere" or look-out, which is right by the huge Brasov sign. Particularly stunning towards the end of a clear day, when you can see the town and the hills beyond in bright colour.
