Burton Memorial Tower is a 212 tall bell tower on the central campus of the University of Michigan.  Beside enjoying a half hour noon concert each day classes are in session,  you can have the adventure of climbing to the 120 tall bell floor to literally walk among the bells.  You do not  need to climb all the way since an elevator will take you near the top.  Be prepared to cover your ears at the 15 minute and hourly chimes.

Visiting the tower is a fun activity for adults who can climb several flights of stairs and for small children, who you think will not be afraid of going up a narrow stairway and standing next to 55 bells ranging in weight from 12 tons to 21 pounds. http://www.music.umich.edu/about/faci...
