International travelers fly into Xiamen Gaoqui International Airport. Located at the Northeast of Xiamen island, it is one China busiest airports daily receiving more than 50 national and international flights. Flighys connect Xiamen to 58 cities in China and 17 cities abroad. Travelers fly from locations in Japan, United States, Europe and Korea . Air China, China Southwest Airlines, Shangai Airlines, Dragon Air, Philippine Airlines, All Nippon Airlines, Korean Arlines and Japan Airlines among other regional Chinese air companies fly into Xiamen from the most popular destinations in China and Southeastern countries such as Thailand, Sumatra, and the Philipines.

To get to Xiamen downtown (about 6.2 miles away), travelers can take the Airport Bus at the sidewalk outside the Arrival Hall. It is a cheap option, it costs 6 Yuan. The airport is also serviced by Xiamen's public buses; they are even cheaper: the ticket costs 1 Yuan, 2 yuan if airconditioned. Taxis can be found at the same place and they charge 8 Yuan for the first 1.9 miles and about 2 Yuan per new mile.
