Travelers heading to the tropical paradise of Kuta on the island of Bali, can head to Ngurah Rai Airport, which is also sometimes known as Bali International Airport. Located on the southern coast of Bali, it is the second-busiest international airport in Indonesia and is only a few miles from the resorts of Kuta.

There are direct flights from all over South East Asia to Ngurah Rai Airport, as well as connecting flights from Jakarta’s Soekamo-Hatta International Airport. The airport is serviced by most of the major worldwide carriers, but if you’re heading from the United States, it is likely that you’ll have to connect through Japan or Hong Kong, and there are numerous daily flights to Bali.

The resort area of Kuta is very close to the airport however, and once you clear customs you’ll be on the beach in practically no time. Numerous hotels provide direct shuttle bus service, and taxicabs and rental cars are also available.

The airport is light on facilities, but does have a bank, duty free shop, post office and drug store, be sure to do your money exchange before arriving. Likewise the food options are a little light, so plan on eating ahead of time when you’re departing Bali.
