Alexandria Bay is a beautiful town in New York State, situated along the St. Lawrence Seaway, and surrounded by some of the 1860 islands that make up the 1000 Island region (see the map ). With its water based location, many of the things to do there are based on the sea.
There are fifteen Marinas lining the shores of Alexandria Bay, and many of them offer boat rentals , boat charters, and boat tours.
Scuba diving is another popular activity throughout the 1000 Island region. This area is well known for its Wreck Diving, as there are hundreds of sites to explore. There are a few dive companies based in the area, two of which are Dive 1000 Islands and Delta Divers.

The fishing in the region has gained recent notoriety as being some of the best in the US.
