This is a charming little town in the northeastern part of Dutchess County.  It is an enjoyable Sunday ride from Poughkeepsie to go here and see the view from the switchback above it on Route 44.  It is not so much spectacular in height (it's only a couple of hundred feet above the village), but the Harlem Valley seems to have a special atmosphere of cloud and sunlight making it a very pastoral scene, especially in summer or fall.

Should you be touring Southern New England and traveling from the Hudson Valley to Hartford, take route 44 if you have time, rather than the interstate as it is a lovely ride.
