One thing to keep in mind when planning a trip to Buzios is that summers above the equator are winters below the equator. Therefore, if you want to take a vacation in July, you'll find that it will be out of season in Brazil. Still, the weather will be warm, but no where near what you might expect. What you should really do is plan on taking a trip from the Northern hemisphere during the winter, this way you can maximize the warm weather and good conditions that you might encounter.
Buzios has a very warm climate, and since it is a coastal community, there is a good breeze that blows in quite often. Once you move just a bit off of the beach, however, the temperatures can rise slightly. When you are packing, you should definitely bring a lot of t-shirts and shorts, but don't forget the swim wear as well. You can do a lot of good shopping down in Buzios as well, so don't feel like you need to come down with a packed suitcase. You can stroll around in flip flops and light clothing, and there really isn't a specific dress code, with the only exception being in certain hotels and clubs/bars later on at night. Overall, however, the town itself has a very laid back attitude.
