Corcovado is one of those sights that everyone must see.  There are several ways to get to the top. Tour groups, usually take the tour bus about half way up the mountain and  park in a small lot.  You are the transferred to a "national park bus" that takes you up to the first observation level.  From there you have the option of an elevator ride to the next level or a set of stone steps which are rather steep and tricky.  The elevator is is much better bet and is complete with an operator and GLASS DOORS to eliminate that closed-in feeling.  From  that level there are two more levels which are reached by esculators.   Even on a rather busy morning  there are only very minimal waits....nothing to deter your enjoyment.  Try to go a little later in the morning when the morning fog and mist dissipates.  You won't be sorry.
