Getting there

 The cog-train leaves Cosme Velho station every hour, on the hour and half past the hour. Tickets cost R$36 for adults and R$ 18 for children. Sit on the right hand side of the train for the best views; whilst at first this might not seem a good idea as you will be facing backwards it is the best side.

The ride is fairly quick; there is a small wait half way as the two trains pass each other. There are a few stations that the train stops at on the way up also there are statues of various animals that seem to get weirder as you get closer to the top.
