Quality musical theatre can be found in Mainstage productions, Cabaret shows and Concert Series by Summerfest Musical Theatre, a year-round professional theatre company located in downtown Birmingham. Featuring favorites like Always...Patsy Cline, Damn Yankees and The Wizard of Oz in their 2006-2007 season, Summerfest brings the best of both local and national talent to the Birmingham stage. The Alabama Ballet collaborates with Summerfest in January of 2007 to produce Song & Dance, a musical by Andrew Lloyd Weber. The Alabama Ballet also performs masterpieces by George Balanchine and contemporary works such as Dracula throughout the yearly seasons . They recruit dancers from across the world including London, Russia, and New York.
