It's undeniable: very few people visit Pretoria purely for vacationing.  visits to the Pretoria sights are usually incidental to other purposes. So if you are here on business and have some free time or on a stopover, do a quick recon of the main attractions dating from Kruger's time as Presudent of the  Transvaal Republic.

Start at Church square, where you can see the historical statue of Paul Kruger. Behind his back is the Ou Raafsaal, the building that housed the ZAR's parliment, and opposite it, the Palace of Justice, seat of the Transvaal Hight Court and venue for many political trails.  Both buildings are not ordinarily accessible to the public but are beautiful examples of the architechture of the time and give a wonderful feel for the hustorical city.

Just a few blocks down Church Street (west) is Kruger House, home of the old President.  This is well worth a visit, of historical interest.
