Umhlanga Rocks, 15km from Durban, is an upmarket coastal village with all amenities, shops and shops.  With its own blue flag beach it is an ideal base from which to participate in a wide variety of water sports and yet still enjoy many land-based adventures as well.  The constantly warm Indian ocean and good beaches are helped by warm, sunny weather that lasts almost year round so if it's a coast holiday you want this is the place to go.   • Hawaan Forest - A beautiful, unspoilt, indigenous woodland area which is home to a large number of animals and a wealth of birds. Containing many different tree species with tropical attributes, it is a must for the nature and bird lover.
  • Umgeni River Bird Park - waterfalls, lush vegetation, birds out on perches, walk-through aviaries and open paddocks, this bird park offers spectacular views of macaws and flamingoes and lets you see how some of the world’s rarest birds live and breed.
