There is an extensive Valley Metro Bus system serving all parts of the Phoenix metro area, including Scottsdale.  You can plan your route online.  Single fares start at $1.25, and other fare options are available, such as all-day passes that visitors may wish to take advantage of.  Bus Route 72 runs along Scottsdale Road, the main corridor of this city where numerous shops, restaurants and hotels are located.  Express Shuttles between Scottsdale Road and downtown Phoenix are available on Bus Routes  510 and 512.

Scottsdale also provides a free trolley service. The trolley system has stops in the city’s main shopping areas and arts districts.  Trolleys arrive about every ten minutes and they have air conditioning and wheelchair access.

In addition to the bus and the trolley, many resorts and hotels offer shuttle service to and from the airport, and some may offer shuttles to golf courses, downtown, or other shopping areas.  Taxis are available, and it is easiest to have your hotel arrange for them, as they are not readily available to flag down on the street.
