The Cathedral Rock trail is a short but steep hike up around the base of Cathedral Rock.  From the trailhead, the trail is about 0.6 miles long and the elevation gain is about 600 ft.  The first part of the trail is easy to follow and is an easy-moderate uphill hike to an area which gives you a beautiful 360 panoramic view of the surrounding rocks.

The second part of a trail is steep and can be classified as a Class 3 hike.  The trail is primarily marked with cairns from this point out.  You will need to scramble up the rocks.  Some people find that the scramble up the rocks isn't the hard part, but the downclimb can be rather unnerving.

The Cathedral Rock trailhead can be reached via the Back O' Beyond road.  From Rt. 179 North, you will go through the Village of Oak Creek.  Turn left onto Back O' Beyond road.  You will see a parking area for the trailhead on the left hand side of the road.

For a longer hikes, you can either start from the Baldwin trail or the Templeton trail both which eventually intersect with the Cathedral Rock trail.
