If you want to visit Palma while staying in Soller as an alternative way to get there, use the old train which has been running since 1912, and the route was electrified in 1929.

The station is located behind the church in the centre of Soller, adjacent the tram terminus. It costs 19.50 euros, for a return ticket to Palma,12.50 one way. It takes around 1 hour to get there as it winds up through the Tramuntana mountains with spectacular views most of the way.

The station in Palma is quite central, opposite the main bus and train station, and the cathedral is about a 20 minute walk away.
