If you are looking for something to do in Mammoth Lakes, Ca or while you are visiting any town in the Eastern Sierra be sure to visit Keough's Hot Springs; 7 miles south of Bishop or 45 miles south of Mammoth; for a one of a kind experience.  Known as the largest natural hot springs pool in the Eastern Sierra, Keough's offers a mineral hot springs pool that is 100 x 40 feet ranging in depth of 3 to 8.5 feet and kept at a relaxing 90-92 degrees during the winter and a refreshing 86-89 degrees in the summer.  There is also a small pool that is 15 x 40 feet and a depth of 1.5 to 2 feet that is kept at 104 degrees. Both pools are constantly and completely free flowing.

Keough's was built in 1919 and saw its largest following in the 20's and 30's where many community events were held.  The pool was closed to the public in the early 80's and then after new owners took over was reopened in 1998. It has since become an integral part of the community once again. Keough's now offers Lap Swimming, Water Aerobics, Public Swim time and hosts the local high school swim team practices.  In the winter many locals and travelers from surrounding mountain towns seek a refuge from the cold at Keough's and are found to be lounging by the pool even in the dead of winter. This is a much needed treat on your way to or from visiting the near by ski area, Mammoth. When summer hits the pull of Keough's does not lessen as the hiking and fishing in the area picks up many locals and tourists come to soak their bones and have a lazy day floating in the crystal clear free flowing waters.

Keough's is not to be missed when visiting the Owens Valley and the Eastern Sierra!!
