Any time of the year is a great time to visit L.A.  You can expect warm and sunny days year round.  Typical high temperatures are 85 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer, 75 in the fall, 70 in the winter and 75 in the spring.  The city averages over 320 days of sunshine per year, so you don’t have to worry about having your beach vacation rained out.  Ocean water temperatures in the area range from 55 degrees Fahrenheit in the winter up to 70 in the summer.   Humidity tends to be fairly high in the mornings, around 80%, dropping off to around 65% in the afternoons.

January and February are the rainiest months, so come prepared just in case. If you are visiting in May, June or July, watch out for the 'marine layer', a cloudy overcast, almost fog-like cloud which may affect the beach and first mile or so of the coastal strip, especially in the mornings.

So whenever you come, bring sunglasses, comfortable summer clothes, and a light jacket and you’ll be ready to enjoy the great weather that has helped to make this such a popular city.
