Breakfast in the "City of Angels" is at its best at the Original Pantry at the corner of 9th and Figueroa, in downtown L.A. Always open, never without a customer, for many years. It's the best hangover cure ever.
The Four Seasons in Westwood has a distinctly different approach at Gardens, highly rated, quite expensive.
