• There are many activities to choose from while visiting Monterey.  The Monterey Bay Aquarium is a must-see for first time and return visitors.  Here, you can view floor-to-ceiling kelp forests, penguins in the Splash Zone, sea otters, sardines, jellyfish and much, much more.
  • The wharf offers great fun with many restaurants where you can find fresh seafood, clam chowder and sample some shrimp cocktail and buy touristy souvenirs.  There is also a great candy shop where you will find your favorite sweet treat while in the area. On Fisherman's Wharf is also a friendly sailing place (Monterey Bay Sailing)offering great customer service and a variety of cruise options.
  • Shopping in Cannery Row is great fun!  Ghiradelli Chocolates can be found here along with many funky shops for souvenirs and trinkets.  This is a great place to find a coffee mug, t-shirt, baseball hat or other favorite souvenir keepsake.  The Sardine Factory is a great place for a fine dining meal.  If it’s steak you’re after, head over to John Pisto’s Whaling Station. 
  • You should also take a scenic drive around the area, including a viewing of many of the area's famous golf courses, and tee off at Pebble Beach.
  • There is no better place for unique shopping in a relaxed atmosphere than Carmel-by-the-Sea. This downtown area, only one square mile in size, also features over 100 art galleries and 60 restaurants and cafe's.
  • Pacific Grove is a quaint town with turn of the century Victorian mansions, ecclectic shops and wonderful cafe's. 
  • Sea lions, harbor seals, and sea otters provide  endless entertainment as you walk or bike along the scenic recreation trail that winds along the harbor and coastline.
  • Enjoy a bonfire on the beach in either Carmel or Monterey and enjoy great views.
  • Wine tasting is abundant -- from the wine tasting rooms in Monterey and Carmel Valley to the actual wineries spread throughout the county.
