San Jose is located in the Santa Clara valley south of San Francisco.  The area has a Mediterranean-type climate, meaning that it has distinct wet and dry seasons.  In San Jose's case it is wettest in the winter months and driest in the summer.  The average temperatures in the city range from the mid 80's in the summer to the 60's in the winter.  Because of this, most visitors choose to come during the dryer and warmer summer months when they can take full advantage of San Jose's beautiful weather and outdoor attractions.  The city very rarely, if ever, sees temperatures that drop below the freezing mark.  To see an up to date weather forecast of San Jose, click here .
