The San Francisco 49ers  play their home games at the Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara .  The stadium is approximately 45 miles south of downtown San Francisco and about 10 miles northwest of downtown San Jose. The article is written in a Q&A format to help visitors and fans .

A map of the area is shown here

The 49ers played their home games at Candlestick Park in San Francisco until the 2012-13 season.  They  were headquartered in Santa Clara for many years and have their training facility there.  The Stadium has been built next to the headquarters.  Levi's Stadium wil also be host to many other sporting events such as Soccer games, College Football games.  Levi's stadium will host the Super Bowl L in 2016 (Super Bowl L = 50).

Which websites should visitors use to purchase game tickets and when ?

The 49ers website will have tickets for sale over Summer. Please signup on their website to get info on the sale.  Other websites which sell tickets from Season ticket holders include  Ticketexchange by Ticketmaster and Stubhub.  Both sites are reliable and seating is guaranteed.  Please do not purchase tickets on or from scalpers.

Levi's Stadium Bag Policy

The NFL is very strict about what can and cannot be brought into the stadium.  Please do check this link for info .

Levi's Stadium what to take ?

Unlike Candlestick Park which had natural airconditioning it is a compeltely different story at Santa Clara.  And day games with the Sun will be HOT for the first half of the season and perhaps a bit cooler in the December /Jan timeframe.  Please bring Suncreen and Caps and stay hydrated.  The East side of the stadim gets really hot so please be careful during a day game

Where are the best seats ?

Since the stadium is not yet open, it is hard to suggest which seats have the best views.  The stadium seating is divided into the Lower Level (Section 1xx),  Mid Level (Section 2xx)  the Lodge (Section 3xx near the Goal Posts)  and the Upper level (Section 4xx).  In addition to the regular seats, the stadium has Suites that can be rented out per game.

Generally, sititng in the 200 level closest to the 50 yard line (center of the stadium) allows fans to have the best views.  The 49ers have club seating in that area and that may offer some of the best views, private entrance access and private food and restroom areas.  There are 4 club lounges that will be available to fans seated in the club seats.  The 3D seating chart can be seen  here   The East side of the stadim gets really hot so please be careful during a day game
