Colorado Springs and surrounding area have some very cool museums which are overlooked often because of the mountains and other beautiful outdoors. The museums are very inexpensive and informative for all the ages.

One of the best and favorites is May's Natural History Museum (former May's Giant Insect museum). It is located actually out of Colorado Springs, just a couple miles down south on road 115 (Nevada).

The other one is Mining Museum - it's an old but working mining equipment. This place is by I-25 north, just across from Air Force Academy.

Also there is a free Carriage Museum by The Broadmoor Hotel, Firetrucks Museum, Numismatic Museum, and many more.
