Rocky Mountain Fall Foliage near Kebler PassOne of the world's best places to see golden aspens in the fall. Mid September is the usual peak of color. Kebler is not as scary as some reviewers mention, though taking the Ohio Pass fork can be a bit scary. The Aspen Grove is supposed to be the largest living organism on the planet, all sharing the same root system. Scenic side trips to Irwin Lake and Lost Lake provide opportunities for picnicking and photography. This area is a very popular snowmobile area starting around Thanksgiving. Get the private rentals from Timber Sleds or CB Snowmobiles and go have a blast with your own group.  The guided tours are like a ride at Disney and should be avoided if you want any adventure. Its not recommended for crosscountry skiers because of the sled traffic, but if you don't mind being passed by sleds doing 30 or 40 down the groomed trail you can get to some seriously deep snow in the backcountry.
