Take a drive up to Horsetooth Reservoir. It's a great area for sunset viewing and views in general. Pack a picnic lunch or grab some take out and go to a picnic table near the reservoir at dinner time. It's a beautiful and relaxing way to spend an evening in nature without much of a time commitment! Amazing how it is usually not too busy there. People forget how close to town it is. Fort Collin's extensive trail system should be high on any visitor's TO DO list. With over 25 miles of bike/walking trails in town and the many nearby foothills hikes at Lory State Park/Horsetooth Mtn. Park and the Natural Areas owned by the City of Fort Collins....those are the draws for the nature lovers who live in this town. Some trails allow dogs and some do not so check it out on line first!
