Cape Canaveral isn’t the place you go for a busy and active nightlife, full of club hopping and fancy bars. You can, however, get a decent meal here, head to bed early and enjoy the crash of the waves.

But if you want a little of the nightlife throw in with your more quiet getaway, there are a few options.

True to its location on the water and its gulf location, you can take a nighttime casino cruise from Port Canaveral. Check out Sterling Casino Lines for such cruises. You can head out at 11 a.m. but for the “nightlife” component, head out on the 7 p.m. cruise, where you can enjoy a beautiful sunset while you cruise. Best of all, the cruises are free and if you’re gambling, so are drinks!

You say you want to hang where the locals do? How about some good seafood at Grills Seafood Deck and Tiki Bar? Here, you can enjoy good seafood while also enjoying live entertainment.

Some locals recommend heading to the port and watching the cruise ships. If it’s a day when a cruise ship is leaving port, you can enjoy the spectacle of that.

If you want more active nightlife, some recommend driving to Orlando for the evening, since the drive is not too long and relatively easy. Just be sure to have a designated driver or drink little yourself.
