Le Tub is primarily a neighborhood bar that has wonderful food.
This is Florida so the pace is leisurely and slow so you may have to wait awhile for your food. Locals go there to drink with friends and know to order their food well in advance. Also if you wait too long some things like the NY Strip won't be available. However there is always plenty of booze to help dampen your appetite. After soaking up a few excellent Margueritas the wait won't seem so long.
Keep in mind that Le Tub food is SOAKAGE for the drinks NOT gourmet
food. It's real food for real folks and you will get a FANTASTIC meal
albeit not a particularly cheap one. The food is GREAT! Their sign says "A cheap place to
eat for folks who have money" another one says "NO credit cards." They only take CASH.
Le Tub has been in business for 33 years and is not for the sensitive
or impatient. If your expectations are too high you will be
disappointed because this is NOT an A list place Oprah and Gayle not
withstanding. It is a neighborhood beach BAR built out of flotsam and jetsom found on the beach by the owner. Come for fun, regular
food and drinks, and you will not be disappointed. Wear your shorts a tee
shirt and a smile and don't expect anything but to eat great food and have fun watching the boats go by.
If you don't want to have some leisurely drinks while you wait for your food.... don't go there. If you are looking for a place to take your kids...don't go to Le Tub as it's a bar and not kid friendly. BUT if you want to spend a leisurely Florida afternoon just chillin' or an evening watching the sunset on the water, having drinks, talking with friends and locals while waiting for your food then Le Tub is for you.
You can also get there by boat which is nice for sailors.
And they have a terriffic juke box... lots of blues... no rap.
Remember too that this is Florida, most of the seating is outside in a garden setting and it is HOT. (outside is also why you may see the occasional "critter"). Dress appropriately and don't be in a hurry because service can be slow and a bad attitude won't enhance your dining experience at Le Tub.
P.S. The sunsets are free.
P.S.S. In the winter on the very, very rare cold day they have a fire in the fireplace. This is very special and the finest time to be at Le Tub.
