Key Largo's nightlife can swing wildly between extremes. During high season, winter through spring, many of the hottest nightclubs are packed with long lines snaking down the street, and celebrity spottings are not uncommon. However, during the fall, the party scene becomes rather subdued as the majority of visitors are either bargain-seeking travelers or senior citizens preparing for the winter.

Key Largo's nightlife consists mostly of outdoor restaurants that morph into margarita-chic bars after sunset and rather elaborate "fun complexes" which provide meals, entertainment, and dancing. The most well-known fun complex is Coconuts on Marina Del Mar which has not only a restaurant, live entertainment, and dancing, but also fishing and diving--though hitting the bar prior to the latter activities should be avoided. Key Largo is also famous for its "tiki bars" which serve exotic, fruity cocktails and a casual, festive atmosphere...and don't worry, they are plentiful along the beaches, thus walking up for a daquiri while clad in a bathing suit does not raise an eyebrow. Some restaurants that have tiki bars attached include Snook's at Mile Marker 99.9, which has drink specials and live music every night, and Pilot House on Seagate Boulevard, next to a coral reef state park, the perfect finish to a day of snorkeling. Ladies, take note, Key Largo's nightlife is especially notable for its abundance of "ladies' nights" where women drink for free, all night long, check in with your hotel concierge to find out where to go each night.
